Free Central Heating Grants are available to single parents and other UK residents who are in receipt of certain qualifying benefits. As well as being a single parent in receipt of government benefit, there are other qualifying factors required in order to access the government boiler scheme for single parents. If you’re a single parent with responsibility for a child under 16 and meet the above requirements, then there’s a very high likelihood that that you will qualify for a Free Central Heating Grant.

Yes, in many cases it is totally free. First Time Central Heating Grants are provided by funding from the Affordable Warmth Scheme part of the Government’s ECO Scheme. You should not normally be expected to make a contribution to the costs.

First Time Central Heating Grants can cover the costs of supplying and installing a central heating boiler together with all the pipework and heating control panels. It would not normally cover additional costs such as if a gas main had to be connected to your home for the first time.

Absolutely. Some homeowners may have no gas mains at their property but there is still the possibility of benefiting from the scheme. This includes potential free upgrades from your current set-up, such as updating radiators to be storage heaters, or switching onto the economy 7 overnight supply.
